In his book Tribes, Seth Godin quotes Sen. Bill Bradley on defining a movement. Essentially it requires 1) narrative, 2) connection between leader and tribe, and 3) action. The great part about Christian movements is the narrative is set—there isn’t a better one. This leaves people catalyzing movements to find a connection with a tribe; and a tangible action with few limits. First, your tribe: this can be any community you spend time with. They already know and respect you. Be present with them. Second, your action: find one repeatable, reproducible action that moves the members of this tribe closer to Jesus.
Start with that. Who’s your community? What is ONE action you can take that will move them closer to relationship with Jesus? Focus on that action. Repeat. Reproduce.
